About Goomsite

Goomsite is an independent magazine about web publishing. It explains the everyday questions of bloggers and small site owners: choosing and running a blogging platform, templates and web design, search visibility, domains, DNS and hosting.

Where the name comes from

The domain began as the Goomsite template shop, which released free and premium Blogger templates, several of them built on AMP. The shop has closed; its template pages are kept as records in the Template Archive.

How guides are made

Every guide is checked against primary documentation such as Google Search Central, Blogger Help, web.dev, MDN, WordPress.org and ICANN. The sources are listed at the end of each guide. Interfaces and menu names change, so each guide describes what the documentation says at the time of checking.

Independence

Goomsite is not affiliated with Google, Blogger, WordPress or any host or registrar. Partner posts are labelled as partner content and live in the Industry and International sections.
